Baltimore Pride Theme!
This year an online competition decided the theme for Baltimore Pride 2008. Community members were invited to submit theme concepts via the Baltimore Pride website during the month of February.
Three finalists were chosen: "Catch the Rainbow," "Wave of Change," and "Live. Love. Be'more." which is a twist on the 2008 international Pride theme of "Live - Love - Be".
With more than 50% of the total votes "Live. Love. Be'more!" took the prize, with the other two themes splitting the remaining votes nearly equally.
About Baltimore Pride:
As one of the oldest Pride events in the country, Baltimore Pride has celebrated the diversity of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community in Maryland and throughout the mid-Atlantic for over 30 years. Baltimore Pride is recognized as the premier GLBT event in Maryland. The parade and block party are held in Mount Vernon, one of the most historic areas in the city and the center of GLBT activity in Baltimore. The festival takes place alongside the beautiful Druid Hill Lake and provides a gorgeous environment for the festivities.
The events of the Pride season exemplify the strength and growth of the GLBT community. More importantly, Baltimore Pride emphasizes the importance of diversity in our community.
Baltimore Pride has grown from a small gathering of a handful of people to the largest gathering of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender individuals and straight allies in Maryland.
